Professional
I attended Lamar University, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in reading and English. I taught second grade in Beaumont ISD for two years. I then returned home to Kountze ISD where I taught fourth and fifth grades at Kountze Elementary School. When Kountze Intermediate School was created, I became the campus Reading Specialist. In this capacity, I work with students that are experiencing difficulties with their reading progress. In 2017, I was honored to be named the Kountze ISD Teacher of the Year.
Personal
I am married with two beautiful children and one grandchild. I enjoy reading and working jigsaw puzzles. If you come to my classroom, you will notice a picture of me at Bristol Motor Speedway participating in a NASCAR ride along program.
